Troopers responding to the crash Tuesday, Oct. 31 in Wharton, found that the woman's Subaru SUV and tractor trailer were both heading east near milepost 33.8, when the SUV slowed and stopped in the lanes of travel due to a previous crash, New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair said.

The woman's vehicle was struck from behind by the Volvo tractor trailer. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance with serious injuries, while the driver of the tractor trailer, a 63-year-old man from Scranton, PA, sustained minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation and there is no additional information available.
